NO ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT FOR FIRST 100 DAYS OF BBM; EX-VP LENI ROBREDO NOW IN HARVARD UNIVERSITY

Last Oct. 7, Pres. Bongbong Marcos reached his first 100 days in office.

In the past, PH presidents had released accomplishment reports to inspire and encourage the citizens as well as colleagues in government. BBM, according to his executive secretary, opted not to prepare and release an accomplishment report.

Thereafter, netizens commented similarly that the reason for not releasing an accomplishment report was because there was no accomplishment in his first 100 days. In addition, his critics accused him of merely interested in attending parties and delivering speeches with promises and plans like his addresses in New York City.

In his recent speech at the Manila Overseas Press Club, he cited one achievement. He said he formed the government of the Executive branch. Although, he has yet to appoint heads of the Departments of Agriculture and Health. In addition, the government of the Executive Branch had been around.

When Mr. Marcos Jr. claimed the presidency, the Philippines was saddled in serious economic problems after six years of Rodrigo Duterte, including two years of pandemic. What are those problems?

Weakening peso against the US dollar,  skyrocketing prices of commodities in the market due to a high inflation rate, rising unemployment, trillions of foreign and domestic debt. Two journalists had been killed under BBM's watch.

Obviously, no substantive change is happening. This president has also been accused of being lazy. A popular actress commented in Twitter, "Interested in the title, not the job." Apparently, the comment referred to BBM.

At the same time the first 100 days of Mr. Marcos Jr. Is being observed, the first anniversary of former VP Leni Gerona Robredo's announcement that she was offering herself to be one of the candidates in the 2022 presidential elections in the Philippines is also remembered by her supporters.

The former VP video taped a message to her supporters in the PH from her daughter Tricia's apartment inside the campus of Harvard University. The taped address is in her Facebook at Leni Gerona Robredo. The former VP is in Harvard to fulfill a commitment to be one of the Hauser speakers on Leadership at the Kennedy School of Government for the current semester.

We wish her the best. We also wish Mr. Marcos Jr. to accomplish good and selfless deeds for the PH and the suffering Filipinos, specially the poor.
