LET'S HONOR NURSES;  MAY IS NATIONAL NURSES MONTH 2023 IN THE US; FILIPINOS RALLY IN NY FOR "TRUTH AND DEMOCRACY"

Yes, let's honor nurses, including the victims of Covid19. Nurses are around, especially when we need them most, like during the pandemic. They are our heroes.

On a personal level, I honor the  nurses in my family. The late  mother of my two daughters, Cecilia, who worked for many years at Mt.  Sinai Hospital in Manhattan; my daughter Maria, who also worked  in  same hospital like her Mom  before  she moved to the West  Coast  where she has been working as wellness nurse.  Likewise, I honor my sister Nerissa,  who worked at Jersey City Medical  Center for many years before retiring in the PH with her family.

I honor the many friend- nurses I have, both in real life and in Facebook.

There are 4.2 million registered nurses in the United States.  Of that,  168,000 are Filipinos.

In one issue, Time has recognized the role that Filipino nurses have played in the historical development of the health care system In America.

Same magazine acknowledged that since 1960 up to 2019, some 150,000 Filipino nurses migrated to the US.

Thus,  prompting one of them to tell Time in an article, Leo F. Jurado, Dean of Nursing at William Paterson University in NJ, that "without Filipino nurses, the health care system of the US would have been paralyzed."

I made nurses my lead topic this week by way of honoring them. I love  nurses. They are "patient people." They are compassionate. They are humane. Let's thank them. God bless them all.

(Updated with photos sent after the rally - Ed)
Concerned Filipino Americans in the Northeast  will stage a rally from 6 to 8 P.M. today, May 8, in New York City, in their continuing struggle to find the truth about what really happened during the May 9, 2022 election in the Philippines.

A group in Manila, called TNTrio, initiated the movement aimed at finding the truth and preventing anomalous election in the future.

I will report later about tonight's rally in front of the PH Consulate along 5th Avenue in Manhattan.
