In Photos: 4th Filipino Heritage Day in Brooklyn, New York; Heat vs Nets

The Brooklyn Nets vs Miami Heat at the Barclays Center and 4th Filipino Heritage Day. The Brooklyn Nets organization together with community organizer Mark Agbuya and his team hosted the 4th annual 'Filipino Heritage Day' on Sunday afternoon and featured a pre-game cultural performance, a medley of traditional dances from the Philippines including "Tinikling" and "Singkil" by members of The Filipino School of New York and New Jersey. Deputy Consul General Kerwin Tate and Consul Arman Talbo represented the Philippine Consulate General in New York. TOFA Performing Artists led the crowd in singing the Star Spangled Banner, JCI New Jersey Youth sang on court and joined the 'High Five' line of the Nets vs Heat pre-game activity.

At halftime, kids from local basketball teams: FABLLI, JSAG, NJ Ballers and FALCON played on court. After the game, Filipino American coach Erik Spoelstra of the Miami Heat greeted fans and supporters of the Filipino Heritage Day, patrons also had the opportunity to take a free throw shot and take home a Filipino heritage 'beanie hat' giveaway.

The Brooklyn Nets through Mark Agbuya thanked everyone who came to support the event and also gave a special tribute to recognize and honor the memory of coach Michael Buddha Plamenco who shared his time and talent with kids in the Filipino American basketball community and an early supporter of the Filipino Heritage event in Barclays Center.
